I’m in Greece!

We made it to Athens! I was really looking forward to coming to Greece, and it hasn’t disappointed! We are staying at this wonderfully cozy AirBnB in the north of Athens. The host is lovely, and the house is extremely comfortable. I feel like I have been living here for ages. We have spent the last few days exploring the city, and I am excited to say that it has gotten to the point where I can walk around sans a map without it being much of a problem. We went to the Acropolis yesterday, and it was awesome. The ruins are beautiful to look at, and we got lucky and didn’t have to pay the expensive entrance fee. Ruins pop out of nowhere even just walking around the city, and people act like it is no big deal – because it isn’t. That’s just how life is in Greece.

Regarding school work, I haven’t really done much of it. I have been productive when it comes to editing my pictures and videos, but I should really start working on my essay again. There isn’t much left to write (only about 500-800 words). I know that I could finish that easily, but it never seems like the right time to do it. I thought travelling with fellow students might mean we would be doing some work together, but so far it has meant the opposite. Whenever I have time to do schoolwork, everyone else is just hanging out and I end up not getting much done. The hope is that I will finish my essay before Bulgaria, but I am not entirely sure that will happen given my track record so far.

Although I haven’t gotten much work done, I have been quite successful at keeping up with my errands. Most important is that I signed up for my courses next semester! It is really starting to get close. I chose the following four courses:

(1) Introduction to Stars, Galaxies, and Cosmology (for my maths requirement)

(2) Anthropology In/ Of the City (for a major requirement)

(3) Technology, Social Justice, and Conflict (for a major requirement)

(4) Human Rights in Global Context (for my concentration)

I am very excited about this schedule! It might change a little, but I doubt it!

I’m falling asleep as I write this, so I think it is time for me to go to sleep now. Until next time~
