Hello hello,
I’m writing to you on a Friday morning, the last Friday before Wellesley officially starts the school year! I have about a week before I leave for my study abroad program in England, but still wanted to give a quick update on where I’m at.
It’s been strange to see all my friends arriving back on campus! String lights have been hung, dorms are being decorated, and campus is slowly becoming bustling again. One of my favorite parts of going back to school is watching all of the sweet reunions after a long summer. The screams, runs, and long hugs are so heartwarming. It already feels weird not being part of it, but I’m looking forward to my study abroad adventures!
Since my internship ended, I’ve been at home with my family. We took a quick trip to San Francisco to visit extended family and move my brother into medical school. My summer roommate and another Wellesley friend came to visit me in San Diego, and we had a splendid time at the beach, while also eating many, many tacos. It feels wonderful to be back in California. I’m enjoying the last remnants of summer with the ones I love, the beach, and Taylor Swift’s new album on repeat.
I’ll be back next week for a quick update on where I’m at (I have a feeling the packing situation will be intense), but until then, I wish everyone a lovely start to fall semester! Thank you for sticking around with me as I documented summer 2019. It’s definitely been one for the books.
Goodbye summer,
Shreya
