Greetings blog!
Long time no see – it’s been a pretty busy week for me, so I’ll just get into it!
Last week was chicken tinga week. What is chicken tinga, may you ask? Only my favorite meal at Wellesley. Those who work with me in Admissions know that I am a major chicken tinga enthusiast (as is the majority of the campus). It’s located in the Nook in Lulu and is basically like Wellesley’s very own Chipotle. I will not be disclosing how many meals in a row I ate that were exclusively chicken tinga (it was a lot).
Keeping on the topic of food, I had my reunion dinner this week with my AAPI first-year fellowship friends from last year. We ordered Indian food, caught up, and ate in Acorns, one of the affinity spaces on campus. I was greeted by the scurrying sound of Winston (our advisor Karen’s dog) running to meet me at the door, which I must say was a highlight of my week (please see the attached picture <3). The fellowship was a big part of my first semester at Wellesley in terms of finding community, and it was really nice to be back together.
As for some exciting news, I would like to announce that I’m officially in the Guild of Carillonneurs! I know I mentioned this last blog post, but I have now been knighted (I will not be saying anything more than that) and am an apprentice. I have made the trek up the 6? 7? 8? flights of stairs it takes to make it up to the top of the bell tower and have even started learning some pieces. Please see the cover photo as proof and fulfillment of my promise from the last post. It’s definitely a learning curve to play an instrument that requires your hands and feet, but I am ready for the challenge! The people also seem very nice and welcoming. Did you know that eating dinner with other people in the Guild is called a carilinner? Get it? Carillonneur + dinner? Carilinner? I think it’s very cute <3
Well that’s all for now! Hopefully my next blog will contain details about my Lake Day (I’m looking at you SBOG), which is a day full of festivities where all classes are canceled that the whole campus has been highly anticipating.
Until then, have a great week!
