Hey all!
Today is a very special and spontaneous day, Lake Day! Occurring since the 80s, Lake Day is a fun and secretly planned day where classes are canceled so that the student body can enjoy the beautiful weather and fun activities! This year is my first Lake Day celebration and I am so excited to be able to enjoy the crisp autumn weather and the company of my fellow sibs!
As this is my first ever Lake Day post-Covid, I unfortunately don’t have any photos of the event yet but instead I will include some cute fall-esque photos of campus from the past few days! Word on campus is that there are going to be carnival rides and different lawn games that take place in Severance Green, which is a large grass field behind the Tower and Sev dormitories. The whole day is going to be such a blast and a nice mid-week treat as many academic classes head towards their first midterms of the semester!
Such breaks like these are traditions that Wellesley offers in order to create a school work/life balance and nurture the need to relax and remember that life is more than the grade received on an assignment. This tradition along with last week’s post about Flower Sunday are a part of the “Wellesley 100,” which is a portion of the application process that asks prospective students what events/parts of campus speak to them! More to come in the following weeks and until then enjoy the beautiful fall weather!
Don’t be a stranger,
Anna Tutek
