Spring is coming

Hello everyone!

First of all, welcome to the new yellow class of 2027! Honestly, yellow is my favorite color, so I am a bit jealous that all of your class merch will be yellow. Purple is also pretty, but there’s just something about the color yellow that reminds me of open fields and summer break.

Speaking of colors, spring is coming to the Wellesley campus. I was outside with some friends and there were lots of flowers around. I am not really a plant person (my poor plant in my room is still standing strong though!), but I enjoy seeing colors outside. Here are some pictures:

I was walking around the lake (again), trying to get my daily steps in and enjoy the weather. I found a really cute and isolated bench that was practically in the woods across the lake, and I spent a lot of hours there this past week. I was enjoying the company of some books – one actual physical book, and one audiobook. I finished the audiobook rather quickly – ever since my dad gave me access to his audiobooks account, I have found that it’s really nice to listen to a book while waiting around, walking in between places, or preparing for sleep in the evenings. The audiobook I finished was Persuasion by Jane Austen. I really enjoyed that book – it felt a lot more mature and serious than some of her previous books I have read.

The other book that I am halfway through is The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I have loved this book ever since I was little, and it reminds me of all the summers I spent with my grandparents and my cousins in the countryside, playing outside in nature. That book is honestly very fitting to be read in the current Wellesley environment: it’s a book about the awakening nature and the emerging spring, which is exactly what is happening right now around me here. Reading outside, fully surrounded by the gorgeous campus, felt really nice during this otherwise busy week.

That’s it from me for the week. Stay safe!
