Pulled Pork Sliders, Ritzy Affairs, and Women Who Will

Couple of reasons why this week has been wonderful: 1. Amazing weather, 2. Spring break is almost here, 3. My whole week has been complemented with nonstop songs from ASAP Rocky, this amazing singer that Justin just introduced me to, and 4. Some exciting news…

I just got an offer from Google to intern there this summer!!! I’ll be working with the New Business Development team within the Business and Operations division. SO EXCITED. The NBD team is especially cool because they come up with new ideas and partnerships, which is incredibly exciting. I just signed on yesterday, so here I come, San Francisco!!

I honestly have to say that Wellesley played a role in helping me get this position. I received incredible advice and guidance from my friend, Alex, who interned there last summer (there were actually two Wellesley Googlers interning there last summer, and one got an offer to work there full-time next year!) and a lot of help from Wellesley alums who now work at Google. Wellesley is a place of amazing people who love to help! I feel so lucky everyday to be in a place where I’m surrounded with people who constantly inspire and amaze me, and I’m even more comforted knowing that there is a vast network of Wellesley grads who can always be depended upon.

Moving onto other things of the week, I had amazing sushi with my ZA family, Meaghan, Tessa, Anjie, Leigh, and, our newest addition, Liz! The restaurant we went to was right next to the Prudential Center, and I had never been and am always scouting for new places to go. It was absolutely great. Here we are:

On Saturday, ZA had an awesome get-together before heading out to TZE’s annual White Party. I had a blast! This week, I also went to celebrate the Davis Museum’s spring exhibitions on campus with ZA, as well. The event was called Davis after Dark—Georgia on My Mind, and they event was amazing. The whole event was southern-themed, so there was blues music performed by some students from Berklee College of Music, southern food and drinks, and even souvenir mason jars that they gave us (and served our drinks in!). The whole event was spectacular. Liz helped put it on, actually!

We also had our semi-formal this weekend!! We first started the evening by attending the Blue Note’s acapella teaser that featured Columbia’s Upton Vocal. The theme was A Ritzy Affair. And a ritzy affair it was! Our formal chairs did an AMAZING job. I had so much fun!! Here’s some pictures from Friday:

On Saturday, Justin and I grabbed lunch at The Cottage before I dropped him off at the commuter rail to catch the bus back home for spring break. Then, I spent the rest of the day catching up on work. Later that night, Erin and I stopped by Nightmarket, a cultural event put on by the Taiwanese Students Association, where we grabbed an authentic Chinese food dinner. I unfortunately couldn’t join ZA at Relay for Life that night because I was a little behind on my CS pset, but next time!

This week has been so great, and I can’t for what’s coming next: spring break! But gotta push through this one last week till then.

Lastly, I’m leaving you with this awesome photo of our Academic Quad. At the top is the bell tower of Green Hall. The bells ring periodically (they’re actually played by students on campus!) throughout the day, and these banners are hung up around campus and remind me just how amazing every Wellesley student is, while at school and definitely after graduating. Credits and thanks go to the amazingly creative Alyxandra Hopkins for letting me use this picture!

I <3 Wellesley
