Winter Break and First Two Weeks Back on Campus

Hi everyone!

Winter break ended two weeks ago, and I’m officially back in academic mode. I absolutely loved winter break. I went back home to Bulgaria, and I slept a lot. With the stress around finals season last semester, I didn’t sleep a lot, so I was really excited to sleep during the break. I saw a lot of my friends, which was really nice because talking on the phone and being in the same room is definitely a different experience. My favorite moment was New Year’s Eve, which I hosted at my house, when all of my friends showed up in their prom outfits. Honestly, that was probably the highlight of the break for me.

My family also got a new member—a puppy called Mika. She’s the most adorable puppy ever: she’s very well mannered, very cuddly, and really smart. Here’s a photo:

At home we are also really into board games, so naturally when I was back, we played almost daily. This time around our go-to game was Ticket to Ride, which is a very entertaining game where the goal is to connect cities in a continent/country (depending on the version of the game) and win points. I’m very competitive, and I won a lot of games there.

Coming back to Wellesley was honestly a nightmare—the weather around all the airports (In Bulgaria, in Germany, and then in the US) was bad, so there were lots of delays, the roads at home weren’t cleared of snow, I had to sprint to catch my connecting flight, etc. Jet lag was also not amazing, but I got over that within the first week. To be honest, I had really missed my room on campus, so at the end of the day I was happy to be back.

This semester I am taking three classes at Wellesley and one at MIT. This is my first time cross-registering at MIT, so I’m really looking forward to my class there. The process for cross-registering was really easy and quick for me, which I was really happy about. At Wellesley I’m taking MATH 206 – Linear Algebra, PHYS 207 – Classical Dynamics, and SPAN 202 – Intermediate Spanish II, and at MIT I’m taking 6 2020 – MIT: Electronics Project Lab.

I will update you how the classes, especially the one at MIT, are going next week. Stay safe!
