Hi everyone!
I haven’t done a day in the life blog recently, so I think that it’s time for one! I’m gonna take you with me through what an average Tuesday looks like in my life.
My day starts with an alarm at 7:15 am and leaving the apartment at 7:40 am to catch my 7:52 am bus. I arrive at the King’s Buildings campus at around 8:45 am (depending on the traffic, it can get really crazy in the mornings here) for my first lecture of the day on quantum mechanics. That class runs from 9 to 9:50 am. My next class is from 10 to 10:50 am and is on electromagnetism.
After those classes, I have a small break until 12:10, during which I have the breakfast/lunch that I have packed from home in the Nucleus Building of that campus where most of the cafes and restaurants are.
Next on my schedule at 12:10 to 1 pm is fourier analysis. When that class is over, I hop on the free shuttle between this campus and the central campus of the university to get to the library to catch up on some work. Like I described in an earlier blog post, studying here works a little differently to Wellesley just because I don’t really have many assignments due each week, and I need to make sure I’m learning the material without those.
I stay in the library until around 5:30 pm, which is when I head out to the Pleasence Complex of the university, which is where the board games student organization that I am a part of here meets weekly. I always look forward to those meetings because I love playing board games, and I love meeting the people there.
I start heading home at around 10 pm. I usually do the 30 minute walk home alone—Edinburgh is a really lit up and safe city, and I feel very safe walking alone, even at night. When I get home I usually head straight to sleep since Wednesdays also have an early start for me.
That’s it for me and my usual Tuesday schedule! I’m going on a trip around Scotland over the weekend, so I will tell you more about that next week!
