Long Time No See

Hello blog readers, happy 2025! I hope everyone reading this had an awesome holidays. If you are new here, my name is Tenzin, and I am a junior at Wellesley majoring in economics and minoring in statistics. I am excited to be back and blogging this semester!

My winter break was great and restful. I went back home to Illinois for the entire duration of break and saw my best friends from back home. I also started learning two new coding languages called SQL and SAS. I used online resources like guided modules, coding tutorial websites, and YouTube videos to teach myself the fundamentals of each language. I am also kind of stubborn, so I also just kind of learned by doing.

Dinner with friends!

Several stalls at an outdoor market in Chicago.

My other favorite thing to do during breaks is to revert back to my childhood interests. This break, I fell back into my biannual obsession with playing Minecraft. My friend and I created a server on Minecraft to play together, so that was a lot of fun.

A highlight of break was driving with my family to Wisconsin for a weekend. We went to go see family friends who I had not seen in a long time. Their family owns a small farm, so it was so cool to see the farm during winter!

A vibrant sunset viewed from a white-fenced porch.

Another highlight of break was watching the dog of another family friend for a few days while they were out of town. My family are cat owners and do not have much experience with caring for dogs, but it ended up being so much fun! She is a young corgi and is so so adorable!

The little hind legs, I can’t!

Overall, break was a lot of rest and fun that helped me reset for this new semester. I have finalized my classes, so I will dedicate the next blog post to share what I am taking this semester and my other activities on campus.

Thank you for reading, and I am looking forward to this semester!
