Hi everyone!
Halloween is over, and now we are entering the long stretch before Thanksgiving break. Nay (negative yay!) for that! But Halloween itself was very fun. My friends and I dressed up for some on-campus trick or treating (I was a witch), and we got a lot of great snacks (my favorite ones were from the President’s house, and specifically—the popcorn there). We also went to Munger Mash, the big Wellesley Halloween party in the Munger Hall courtyard. It was all really fun!

The two things that are taking the majority of my time right now are, of course, my thesis and the Slater Culture Show. Did I tell you guys that this year’s theme is Global Express? The idea is the image of trains as symbols of connection and movement across cultures, people, and continents. Below is what our spam (Wellesley’s version of event posters!) will look like. Honestly, organizing this event is a lot of work and effort, but I am hoping that it’s a fun experience for everyone in the end!

My thesis is also moving along. Most of what I have been doing has been coding (creating a data analysis pipeline that can handle different experiment conditions). This past week I have also been collecting some data in the lab to add to the background chapter of my thesis. Next week, I am going to work on a new device that we are adding to our big chamber that will monitor the levels of liquid nitrogen/argon. Exciting!

This is what my advisor’s notes for me look like after our weekly meetings
So, yeah, it’s a very busy time. But Thanksgiving break is just around the corner!
