Hi Blog Readers,
Last week was Thanksgiving break, and next week is the end of classes! I wanted to use this post to quickly recap my break and what I have been up to in my classes.
Tuesday was the last day of classes before break at Wellesley, and I flew back home to Illinois that evening. The college offers a special Thanksgiving break shuttle that goes to South Station (a major train station in downtown Boston) and Boston Logan Airport on Tuesday and Wednesday. So, I took it to the airport.Â
Actually a funny story—I was a little sad about the timing of my flight because it overlapped with the live finale episode of Dancing with the Stars, my favorite show. But during my flight, I look over to the person sitting next to me and they are watching the finale on their iPad! We end up chatting about who we hoped would win the show. Then, we are interrupted by the person in the aisle across from us—turns out they are watching it too! I found out from them that the airline’s free wifi offers live TV and was airing the finale, so we all happily watched Dancing with the Stars on our respective devices. You truly find community in the most random scenarios.
My break itself was fun and restful. I did some schoolwork I had due when we got back from break. My family and I celebrated Thanksgiving by cooking a large meal with the classic turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and butternut squash soup; I was in charge of making the apple pie, and I tried out cooking macaroni and cheese for the first time. I was pretty happy with it, so maybe it will be a new Thanksgiving staple for my household?Â

On Black Friday, my friends and I went shopping in downtown Chicago. We had a good time, but I lament that Black Friday sales are not what they used to be. What happened to fighting someone over a 50% off flatscreen TV at Best Buy?

Illinois experienced a ton of snow last weekend, so the remainder of my break was quite snowy. Thankfully, my flight was not affected, and I flew back to Boston very early Monday morning.

This week is the last full week of classes, since our last day of class is next Wednesday. It has been pretty hectic—I had a final presentation for my MIT class on Monday, a short economics presentation on Wednesday, and a stats quiz on Friday. And next week, I have an economics test.Â
Most Wellesley students are in this final push before the end of classes and final exams, so wish us all luck! Thank you for reading.
