Hey all! It seems like Fall Break was a century ago even though it was only last week. Time is a funny thing. I feel like this semester is flying by but at the same time days can feel longer than 24hrs with all of the things that Wellesley girls try to fit in (classes, homework, hanging out with friends, clubs, sports, having a social life, eating, sleeping-all of the essentials). This week is a really busy week for me. I teach an afterschool program in Chinatown in Boston Tuesday afternoons (I'll probably discuss this in a future blog because it's a cool program so remind me!), tomorrow I have to go into Boston for my MIT class, I have extra rehearsals for the ballet organization I'm in on campus called ascenDance (also the topic of a future blog), plus I have two papers due at the end of the week and I have to have my Tanner presentation finished by Thursday for a run through with my advisor from the anthropology department, Professor Van Arsdale. Tanner, which will be the topic of my blog next week, is a day when classes are cancelled and students make presentations to their peers, faculty and the Wellesley community on rewarding experiences they've had off campus like study abroad, Wintersession programs and/or internships.

In my experience though, busy weeks have led to super fun weekends where you can let loose and reward yourself for buckling down. There is so much going on this weekend on campus and off campus too! My friend, Adrien, will be visiting me from Tennessee and I think we're going to go apple picking because apple picking is one of those things you have to do in New England. Saturday I have an event for Chinatown Afterschool called "Halloween at Harvard" when the kids come to the Harvard campus to do fun Halloween actitvities we've planned and to go trick-or-treating in the Yard to all of the freshman dorms. It should be a lot of fun and cute to see all of the kids (and counselors) in costume! This weekend is also the Head of the Charles which is this huge rowing competition in Cambridge. Harvard Square is packed with people, vendors and food plus people line the Charles River for miles cheering for their favorite crew teams. My best friend from back home, Madeleine, will be coming up to Boston from Columbia to cheer her brother and father on so I'm excited to see her! Finally there's a few parties on campus this weekend (so convenient because they're free for Wellesley students and you don't have to go anywhere far) like Wild Thing, which is being put on by Wellesley's hip hop dance troupe, Freestyle, and a toga party at one of the societies on campus, Tau Zeta Epsilon, which is the music and art society (similar to the idea of a sorority). It's only Tuesday but I wish I could fast forward to the weekend now!

Remember how my favorite spot on campus last week was what I called the Shakespeare Garden? Well here's why I've nicknamed it so: this balcony is straight out of Romeo and Juliet. It's my goal before graduating to either participate in or watch someone recite the balcony scene from here. Now I just need to find a Romeo…I'm accepting applications :-]
