The Great Wall

I have officially seen The Great Wall of China!

This weekend we took a train out to the wall as a school trip. The first day we hiked it rained!! 🙁 But we went back to our hostel and warmed up and all was well. The hostel fed us an amazing dinner and our school provided s’ more ingredients afterward. We all sat around a campfire drying our clothes and learning Chinese campfire songs.

The next morning we woke up at 4:30 to hike a more difficult portion of the wall ruins and see the surmise. It was incredible! I am in awe of the fact that I have seen what could possibly be one of the most beautiful, historical places on earth. Honestly, I have no words to describe how I feel. I hope these pictures will be enough!

I’ll have more coherent thoughts next week, I promise:)
