Hello!!
Greetings from England!!! I have arrived at Oxford!!! Oh my goodness where to begin…I live in a wonderful flat (what they call apartments here) in the residential neighbourhoods just outside of city centre (I’m going to try to type British this whole year let’s see how far I get) and I will have 3 housemates but they haven’t arrived yet so I have the place to myself for now! Oh it’s wonderful I get a living room and a kitchen with everything included (just not food) and my own room with a nice second-story view. The only downside is it’s a bit far from campus–but I’m getting a bike soon so that won’t be an issue! Woohoo!
Now let’s get to the beautiful photos of Oxford itself…
This is my school! Mansfield!
And this is another one of the something like 46 colleges (!!) at Oxford. The concept of colleges within a university is kind of hard to grab for Americans…but think of it like Harry Potter! π
The tower kind of reminds me of Wellesley… π
Below is my dad in one of the famous red telephone booths…making an actual call, too! To his credit card company so they stop rejecting his purchases in the UK as fraud… π
My dad and I outside Christ Church College…
The famous Bridge of Sighs!
The University Museum of Natural History…very close to my college (Mansfield) actually!
And inside Mansy (what we call Mansfield)…doesn’t it look like Wellesley….? π
Some water and greenery…
Another photo of Christ Church….
And another photo of Mansy! It’s so beautiful :’)
Anyway, it’s getting late and I should sleep! But oh my goodness I love it here!!
Goodnight!
Cheers,
Em
