Last week, we finished our final product for my engineering class! Yay! Here it is:
It slips onto the foot like a sock and pads the heel to make an oversized shoe fit better and keep the user’s heel from popping out at the back. It looks intuitive, but believe me, we spent the better part of this semester iterating versions of this. Some days we never thought we would make something that would work!
Last Friday, we presented our final product at Community Rowing. Here I am modeling our wedge sleeve for a rower there:
I’m so glad that I decided to take this class. It has really broadened my horizons and taught me a lot about brainstorming, creativity, design, and teamwork. Wellesley continues to push me to the boundaries of my comfort zone and beyond. This week I’m giving thanks for my education at Wellesley College.
