Can’t believe it’s almost Christmas!!
Also quick side note: currently in LOVE with “Ocean Drive” by Duke Dumont and “Tonight You Are Mine” by The Technicolors.
Okay. My Europe trip is almost at its end! I can’t believe it.
I have traveled by train, bus, plane, car, and bicycle across Europe over the past few weeks. I have been to five countries and a handful more cities. I have slept on stranger’s floors. I have stayed in a fair share of hostels. I’ve loved the different cuisines, languages, cultures, and architecture.
Solo travel isn’t always easy, and loneliness is a real thing, but it is so rewarding. Forget the new friendships and awkwardly funny, language-barrier-induced-communication-struggles. Just being in a new place, seeing new things, being comfortably outside your comfort zone…these things are priceless. Not to mention how therapeutic all of this has been on my eyes, on my mind. Just walking around a foreign country with my eyes open is like having a visual massage 24/7. You can’t put a price on change of scene, on refreshment, on peace of mind.
I think I was in Munich when I last wrote…well I’ve been in Utrecht, Netherlands as of late, and visited Amsterdam today, and tomorrow I’ll go to Alkmaar where I’ll spend Christmas, before flying back to Barcelona and embarking on my return trip to Boston from there. 🙂 Can’t wait to see my boyfriend again–it’s been so long!!
Here’s a few pictures from Amsterdam today:
