That’s right, folks! Two speedy demons from our very own WTF team were in Iowa competing at NCAA D III’s this past Friday and Saturday.
On Wednesday, we had a big send off at Wellesley outside of the KSC.
On Friday, Sharon ran 5.01 and placed fourth in her mile heat. She moved on to run in the finals on Saturday.
Abena jumped over 18 feet and placed fourth in the country!
I’m incredibly proud and in awe of them both! They worked hard and deserved every moment. It was so exciting to watch them compete. The team had a viewing party set up in the KSC. We hung out together, ate snacks, and enjoyed the intensity of indoor nationals from afar.
On Friday evening, I attended an alumnae dinner for SAAC (Student Athlete Advisory Committee). Athlete alumnae in the Boston area came to join current student athletes for dinner and share their real world wisdom. I got to meet the woman who created the East Asian Studies major. Pretty cool! And the best part? We had nationals playing on the projector in the background all evening;)
What a great weekend.
Now time to pound out one more week until break. Let’s go!
