The Haymarket

I decided to stay at Wellesley for Spring Break this year since the time I have left to enjoy campus is rapidly disappearing! There are so many things to do in the greater Boston area that I never do when I’m focusing on school. And now is the perfect time to enjoy them.

I kicked my break off on Friday afternoon, after practice, with a teammate. We went into Boston on the 3pm Peter (shuttle bus) on a mission to find The Haymarket. The Haymarket is an outdoor farmer’s market near the green line stop of the same name. It’s open on Fridays and Saturdays from “sun up to sun down” and is a smorgasbord of incredibly cheap, fresh fruits and vegetables. I got FIVE AVOCADOS for ONE DOLLAR!

Avocados… 5 for ONE DOLLAR.

Basically this was the best thing ever. And such a lovely way to start break. Plus, Portia and I took a long meandering walk around Boston afterwards just to enjoy the city.

I had so much fun at Haymarket, I definitely plan to make it a regular destination. And I am still hopeful that I will end up working in Boston next year. So now I know where I’ll be doing my grocery shopping;)
