Today is a beautiful fall day but a little humidity lingers from the heavy rains yesterday. The leaves have yet to change colors on campus so it still feels like summer is holding on tight. I'm sure that October will bring some cooler temperatures upon its arrival.
This past week has been really busy but fun, too. My society finished the "teaing" process (girls come to our house for tea and snacks and mingle with members, resulting in a mixture between rushing a sorority and speed dating). After reading many awesome applications, we finally welcomed a new initiate class! Society fun has been a big time commitment this week on top of my busy soccer schedule, but somehow I'm still on top of my school work! Woo hoo!
Me and a few fellow ZA members of Spring 2010 initiate class at our Great Gatsby themed tea!
The soccer team traveled a ton this week; we headed up to Bates College in Maine on Wednesday and then to Mount Holyoke on Saturday to play one of our 7 Sisters colleges. We lost a tough battle to Bates, but then came back and beat Mount Holyoke 3-0. Go Blue! Today we play Brandeis, a tough team who will give us some good competition.
Last night I broke up the usual mid-week monotony and went out to a delicious birthday dinner for my 3 good friends at Blue Ginger in what college students call "the ville" (known to town residents as Wellesley Center). I ordered the most amazing mushroom risotto ever! I would highly recommend Blue Ginger for any special occasion if you like Asian fusion cuisine, but beware- it can easily get pretty pricey!
In other news, I think this weekend might be a little lonely because everyone's parents except mine are coming into town for Homecoming/Parent Visit Weekend and everyone will be hanging out with their families for a few days. My parents will be coming over Halloween weekend, though, so I'm looking forward to seeing them (and my grandparents) then.
Hope everyone is doing well!
