Another Busy Week

Guys, I’ve been spending so much time outside and I have to say… it’s glorious. Even though the weather is more or less steadily declining, the sky has been blue and the sun has been out. The lake was literally glittering this afternoon. It’s hard not to stare longingly at it from inside the library.

Speaking of the library, I was in Clapp last night from 7 pm to 9. I was kind of dreading an oral exam for Japanese – that I think I did perfectly well on, thank you very much – but not only was the library the perfect place to study because it was half empty that late, my friend came and helped me prep. A lot of my social life here revolves around study groups, volunteering at a cat shelter, and running into the members of the Gamers’ Guild (we’re all so excited for Smash Ultimate!); while that might not seem like a lot, it’s actually a great balance. Sometimes, with all the Wellesley events and classes going on, I might not see a friend for about a week. Catching up on studying or talking over coffee at El Table or in Boston is such a good way to relax without rearranging my entire schedule.

Another thing filling up my schedule now is my Computer Science project. I did it, I found a mentor! I guess it’s in typical Wendy Wellesley fashion that I wanted to start such an ambitious project as a first semester freshman, but it’s something that I’m really passionate about. And sometimes, I can’t write any more pages of an upcoming essay without almost pulling my hair out (curse you, word count!), so now I can turn to that as a break!

Unfortunately, that’s everything I have to talk about this week but I’m going to start working on writing longer posts for you guys. 🙂

For now, I’ll leave you with some pictures of the kittens from the shelter and my latest Spotify obsession – this time it’s Louie Zhong, the guy who made the Ghost Duet that was all over Instagram and Twitter!
