新年快乐!(Happy New Year!)

Hello! I feel like I was just telling you all about my week last week. Where is the time going?

These next couple of weeks are crunch time. I have a midterm this week, next week, and the following week. And then the next round of midterms basically starts lol. But I’m happy to be busy. I’m learning that I thrive under a bit of pressure. If I’m not going, going, going I get bored quickly.

Speaking of going, this weekend’s track meet was a success! I got to run the 400 meter relay for the first time since being back. I missed it so much! I truly feel like I’m back and part of the team now:)

Someone stuck a sticker from the bookstore on Kendra’s back at the meet. #goons 🙂

Let’s see… What’s new with Wellesley? The snow just keeps piling up. There are places on campus where the snow banks are taller than me (a lot taller)! It’s very pretty but I just hope we are done missing school. I’m finally getting back into the weekday flow.

I am especially loving my game theory econ class. It’s called “Games of Strategy.” We are learning how to to find and understand the equilibria of strategic games. Examples of strategic games include “Rock, Paper, Scissors” and checkers. But most of the games we’ve been talking about so far have been more simple. One of the types of games is “coordination” games in which the two players want the same outcome, such as how to coordinate with a new friend where to meet for coffee when you have no means of communication. How is this possible, you might ask? We’ve learned that it is possible in specific instances. And also how likely it is depending the circumstances. It’s pretty cool stuff:) (Econ minor for the win!)

Also! Happy New Year! Chinese New Year was this past week and I got to celebrate in two my classes (my Chinese classes, of course! haha). My Beijing roommate sent me pictures of her family’s New Year’s feast. I wish I could have been there! Maybe someday;)
