Like Dark Chocolate: Bittersweet

On Thursday night the team and I attended the Scholar Athlete Celebration. Every year they feed us Ben & Jerry’s and tell us how cool we all are;) It’s a lot of fun. The team played a game where we all tried to take as many funny pictures of our coach as possible. Extra points for selfies!

Then on Saturday evening we had our track banquet where we recognized the coaches for all of their hard work all year. And we celebrate the seniors’ contribution to our team throughout their time at Wellesley. There were a few tears and we all agreed that the night was like dark chocolate: bitter sweet.

I honestly don’t know what I will do next year without Kendra and Kathleen, the seniors on the sprint team. They have become two of my best friends at Wellesley. The memories I have with them, I will keep forever. From shenanigans in Boston to sick days spent in bed, they’ve been there with me through all of my triumphs and tribulations. I can never tell them what they mean to me. And since I don’t have a mountaintop from which to shout how much I love them from, I will shout it from a blog on the internet.

I love you Kendra and Kathleen! Thank you for making my Wellesley experience what it is today. <3
