On Wednesday, WE GOT SO MUCH SNOW! We really thought it would be a snow day. But Wellesley College braved the storm and stayed open (Even though a lot of professors canceled class anyway.)
Every Wednesday morning Track & Field has EARLY morning practice at 7am so I was one of the first to witness the beautiful winter wonderland.
We had a pool workout which was cool because we could see the snow falling all around us through the pool’s large windows.
To be honest, snow is not my favorite weather although I do concede it is very pretty. I much prefer to leave the snow at home (in upstate New York).
Here’s the token “I’m experiencing interesting weather here” photo of the Lulu that I posted on Facebook:
Later on Wednesday, I saw a friend Nordic Skiing to class:) That was pretty cool. I have yet to ski around Wellesley’ campus but its definitely on my bucket list. (I’ve been trying to convince my coach to let us ski one of our workouts.)
And finally, my post would not be complete without a picture of the naked man statue;)
There’s been a lot of controversy about him, as I’m sure you’ve heard. (If you don’t know the full story just google Wellesley naked statue.)
Personally, I think that the Davis Museum and the artist did a great job of advertising his show. Regardless of the negative reactions, all the publicity is great for them. And hey, art should be provocative and incite discussion and debate. I think its doing its job;)
If you’re interested, I recommend reading Lia’s blog post for more Wellesley commentary on the statue. She makes some very good points (and has some more pictures!)
