Let me tell you! It has been a LONG weekend.
I attended track meets on both Friday and Saturday. On Friday, we competed at a very competitive meet. Our coach took some great photos. Here’s a picture of me in the 500 meter dash.
On Sunday I went into Boston to spend the day with my best friend from home to celebrate her birthday. We went to a vegetarian restaurant called Clover in Harvard Square. It was so good. My friend even admitted she loved it even though she was skeptical to go to a totally vegetarian restaurant. Go veggies! 😉
Today (Monday), we have the day off from school. I have practice in the morning and then I plan to head into the vil and do some job applications at the library. The Wellesley Library is really cozy and has tons of natural light. Its a great place to hunker down and get productive for an afternoon. I am planning to apply to some high school teaching fellowships. These are generally one to two year commitments. I’m specifically looking to apply to boarding schools, where I would live on campus in the dorms and perhaps help coach the track team. I have been thinking about the importance of my own high school education in shaping who I’ve become and I think it would be a really special opportunity to pay it forward for a few years. Plus, it would be fun to teach Mandarin and share my passion for language acquisition and cultural studies with high schoolers!
I will keep you all in the loop on my future plans;)
P.S. Happy Birthday Washington!
