I’m back!!! I returned to campus on Sunday and orientation training began on Monday. I’m here as an AMP, or athlete mentor (the P stands for program lol). Training has been a blast so far. I can’t believe that the week is almost over and the first years will be here so soon! The international students actually arrive on Friday!
Training has been really helpful. We cover topics ranging from sexual assault, to alcohol, to leadership skills. Here is a picture of the international student panel that spoke to us on Tuesday. They shared their stories from their first year orientation experiences at Wellesley. As a student who hails from relatively nearby New York, it was really helpful to hear what types of support they needed (or didn’t need) during their adjustment to college.
I can’t wait for the new students to arrive and if you’re one of them you better get pumped (or should I say AMPed? đ ) for all the fun experiences we have planned for you this year! See you soon;)
