Registration is coming and I can’t decide what to take! I’m realizing that as an upperclasswoman, there are so many fun class options available to me. And I feel much more confident choosing difficult classes because now I have the experience I need to succeed!
So far my desired class schedule for next semester consists of two classes at Wellesley and two classes at Babson (taking classes at Babson has been on my Wellesley bucket list since first year)! The Wellesley classes I want to take are Chinese 306, which is the fall semester pair to the Chinese class I’m taking now, and Pol 230. Pol 230 is called “Washington: Leadership Policy”. It meets every other week and focuses on the role of leadership in policy shaping, especially foreign policy, which is what I’m interested in! Over wintersession the class actually goes to Washington to meet with policy makers and other people in leadership. I want to take the class SOOOO bad but its highly competitive and you have to apply and then be chosen in order to enroll. I have now sent in my application and am waiting patiently (well mostly patiently)!!!
Taking classes at Babson is pretty straightforward. You fill out a cross registration form online and then a transfer of credit form. Once the semester starts, there is a Babson/Olin/Wellesley shuttle that runs between the campuses. The Babson classes I want to take are “Introduction to Accounting” because accounting is a good skill to have, especially in the business world, which I am hoping to enter. The other class is called “Personal Nutrition.” The class focuses on nutrition and digestive health, which I am very interested in, both as an athlete and as someone with a family history of digestive diseases. As of right now, the class is already full but I am hoping that someone will either drop it or Babson will let me enroll as an additional person. (I am also hoping Wellesley will give me a science distribution credit for this class because yes, I am going to be THAT senior who hasn’t finished her distributions…).
So that’s my current plan. Keep your fingers crossed for me;) I’ll let you know how it goes.
