Rubber Ducks, Registration (and everything in between)

It’s been a loooong week:)

This past weekend, we had a track meet at American International College in Springfield. My parents and my aunt came to see me run the 100 meter hurdles. It was cold and windy but still fun! My good friend Madeline had her debut in the steeplechase. It was a lot of fun to cheer her on. She did awesome for her very first time ever! It got me really pumped for my own race.

And there were little rubber duckies next to the steeplechase water pit. It was adorable!!!

So then on Tuesday my coach decided we were all going to have an early morning practice. (And I, unfortunately, am not at all a morning person lol.) But I dragged myself out of bed at 6:30am and slapped a smile on my face:) It wasn’t too bad. It was really nice to be up early and get practice over with. Then I had the rest of the afternoon to do homework (and nap).

On Wednesday, I had a presentation in my Chinese Minority Cultures Class. My group researched Uygur music and dance ritual. It was very interesting and I think our presentation went well! 🙂 At practice I worked on my steps to the first hurdle. I’m trying to consistently take eight steps instead of seven. Its soooo much harder to do than you’d think! But I’m makin progress. Progress is good:)

AND YESTERDAY!!! We ordered awesome long sleeve track and field shirts and they arrived yesterday:) They’re so sweet!

Here’s me modeling/being super excited about my new shirt. Excuse my silly grin;)

Today was a little crazy, as well. I registered for classes this morning, which is always a little nerve wracking lol. But all was fine:) I got three of the four classes I wanted. And I’m actually really excited about the fourth class I found to fill my schedule. Its called “China, Japan, Korea & Global Perspective.” And not only does it fulfill the history distribution requirement that I need, it is also a class that counts towards the East Asian Studies major. So I’m pretty excited:) It sounds like an awesome class. My other classes are Economics 101, Chinese (language) 201, and Cams (Cinema and Media Studies) 241. The Cams class is called “East Asian Women in Film.” Doesn’t that sound interesting?

I can’t believe that the semester is already winding up. Tonight I have my third to last Astro lab. It’s crazy! Speaking of Astro, I have my second midterm exam on Friday! Needless to say I’ve been studying all week. I’m feeling pretty confident at this point, though.

This weekend we head to UMass Amherst for the Minutemen Invitational. There’s going to be some intense competition there. I can’t wait:)

P.S. Spring Open Campus is soon! I hope many of you will attend. I came to Spring Open Campus as a prospective student and it was amazing to meet so many other people who were interested in Wellesley and find out their stories. And seniors, if you’re still making decisions, a visit to campus is a great time to ask more questions and meet new people. Plus a walk around the lake in this beautiful spring weather might be just the thing to do while pondering where to spend the next four years;)
