Spring Open Campus and other thoughts

This Sunday was a beautiful day for Spring Open Campus to begin! To everyone who came to see Wellesley: I hope you had a blast. To all the current students who helped host prospective students: THANK YOU! This is an amazing event and it couldn’t happen without your energy and generosity.

As I see all the new and excited faces around campus, I am reminded of my own experience as a high school senior sleeping on the floor of a triple in Tower. The view was insane and the classes were cool, but it was the three women I stayed with that made my decision so easy. I wanted to be as open, mature, and intelligent as they were. I wanted to come to Wellesley.

Now, four years later, I wish I could go back to the moment of that decision and do it all again, one more time! Thank you for four great years, Wellesley. To all of you soon-to-be first years: make the most of your time here. It will go by too quickly.

In other news, I took my Bio lab practical on Friday and my Bio midterm on Sunday!

This is what I did every evening last week: talk about the heart and draw lots of organs!

What a relief. I think I aced the practical;) I’m very excited. Biology is so cool. It makes me want to know everything there is to know about how living things work. I’ve actually been researching online course options for continued learning in biology/chemistry after graduation. I think I might take a few edX courses this summer. They look really fun! Wellesley offers a number of edX courses for free, which I didn’t know before. If you’re interested check out the WellesleyX course offerings. Introduction to Human Evolution from the Anthropology department looks fascinating. I might be doing that this summer between jobs;)

Join me in taking advantage of this incredible and free resource! I’m so excited to keep learning for the sake of learning, even after I graduate. There is so much joy in knowledge.
