You thought the blogging was done for the summer didn’t you? 😉 Nope! I’m still here.
I just arrived in Beijing yesterday morning. I will be here for ten weeks this summer interning for an expat magazine called City Weekend Beijing. I start today and I’m so excited!!! This is my first real office job experience. And, honestly, I’m pretty nervous. I’ve been working at a movie theatre since I was 13!
Beijing is just like I remembered it: alive and busy. Its strange to think that I was here just about 6 months ago. There’s already a new subway line. This city truly never sleeps.
This morning I went out to explore the neighborhood a little before work. I’m in a completely different part of the city so it really feels like a whole new adventure. I found the bank and the baozi (Chinese dumpling) shop. #priorites
Our apartment is on the 13th floor of a huge complex and it looks out over the city to the east. It is a 30 second walk from the subway. I’m in love with the whole situation.
I’m here interning in Beijing this summer as per the global requirement of the Albright Institute. Each of the 40 fellows is required to complete an internship abroad during the summer after their participation in the wintersession component. I want to shout out to all my fellow Albrighters who are all over the world starting their internships now! Good luck to everyone:) Come home with great stories! I can’t wait to reconnect.
We (the 40 Albright fellows of 2015) will all be doing Tanners in the fall to share our experiences abroad. I highly encourage Wellesley students to come enjoy our adventures as we relive them one last time in the classrooms of the science center.
Over and out! Or should I say: 下周见!
