Track Fun & Honey! (Life is sweet)

This week, the track team had a lot of fun:) On Wednesday, we took pictures during lift for Wellesley Athletics’ “I heart my body campaign.” Follow Wellesley Athletics on Instagram to join the conversation!

Then on Saturday, we all wore purple to kick off the Relay for Life campaign. This year, Relay for Life will be held at Wellesley’s indoor track on April 1st. The track team is making a team for the event! I’m really excited because I used to do Relay for Life in high school but I have yet to be part of an event while at college.

In other news, the bees at Olin are ready to ‘chill’ for the winter. (Haha see what I did there?) I ran over to Olin on Sunday and we finished packaging up the honey we extracted during the past few weeks. I even got to take some honey home to my dorm room:) I’m gonna have some very yummy tea now!

Two weeks til Thanksgiving! I can’t wait to take some time to relax with my family. I’m also planning to write a lot during the break for my poetry class. I think taking the time to remove myself from all the other work I have going on in my life and just focus on writing will be very useful. I also want to finish reading a book my Chinese professor recommended to me. It’s called “The Web That Has No Weaver” and it’s about the art and theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It’s extremely interesting and accessible for someone who is not an expert in medicine or even Chinese culture. I definitely recommend it. I’ve been reading a few pages every night before bed to relax:)

Speaking of relaxing… This week is going to be crazy. My engineering class project has to be finished up this week so I’m going to be working hard in that class. But it will feel so rewarding once we’ve finished. There is even going to be a chance for us to present our projects in the science center to students and alumnae who are interested in Wellesley’s engineering program. I’m excited:)
