Welcome back!

Its welcome back weekend at Wellesley:) And by that, I mean that everyone is returning to campus and things feel happenin’ again!

It’s odd to see first years walking around campus that I’ve never been before. This is their campus in ways that it is no longer mine. It’s a bitter sweet feeling. I can’t wait to meet as many new Wellesley classmates as I can. These women are just starting the journey that I am now more than halfway through. I’m preparing to leave Wellesley and enter the world. And they are all beginning the process of finding themselves on this beautiful campus. It makes me so incredibly happy and proud to know that others have continued to grow and learn on Wellesley’s campus while I was away and they will continue to long after I’ve graduated. I have so much love and appreciation for what this place has given me. I want everyone to have this experience too!

Speaking of first years, the first years on the Track & Field team are DA BOMB! I am so happy to have them as new friends:) On Saturday, our meet was canceled due to the snow so we had a long practice in the brand new field house together. (The field house is beyond beautiful and it officially opens today!) Afterwards, we hung out all day together and I got to know the “new” (to me) members of the team. It was such a nice, relaxing day.

Here we are christening the new field house!

On top of having wonderful new teammates, I also have 39 new best friends walking around campus from The Albright Institute. Every time I see someone, I’m so happy to say hi and be reminded of the incredible experience we shared. It’s especially meaningful because these are women from all different majors and backgrounds that I would probably never have met otherwise. My life feels so full of friendship and blessings today.

Thank you Wellesley! First day of class, let’s do this!

P.S. Last week, I learned how to erg with some of the crew team who did Albright with me. Here is Charlotte, one of the fellows on my presentation team. She’s an incredible athlete and one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met in my entire life.

Charlotte teaching me how to erg properly:) (I’m really bad at it but she was patient with me lol.)
