Have you all heard of Yik Yak? Here’s an interesting article about it! (Regardless of what your answer was to that question.) http://www.nytimes.com/2015/03/09/technology/popular-yik-yak-app-confers-anonymity-and-delivers-abuse.html?_r=0
I thought this Yak was especially nice so I saved it:
Also, I love taking Horticulture. We get so many free plants to take home! (Plus, we planted a ton of vegetables in little pots at the beginning of the semester, which we’re going to use to make a salad at the end of the semester!)
The plant on the right below is a daffodil! It’s so adorable and it smells so good, and the flower is only like an inch in diameter! (The other plants are basil and a purple hyacinth – also very pleasantly fragrant!
Just a heads up, this post is going to be a bit all over the place – hope you don’t mind!
On Thursday, the VP of MIT’s outing club, Jacob, visited campus so some of the WOC (Wellesley Outing Club) eboard members and myself could meet him and hear about how MITOC is run. Afterwards, we gave him a tour of campus, and he summited this snow bank in front of tower:
Also the MITOC logo is a skiing(hiking?) beaver. Super cute.
By the way, currently listening to “I’m Good” by The Mowgli’s. It has a very good message and very much sums up my life right now. (:
However, this past week was a bit rough for me, and for my best friend Katie, too. To give you a glimpse into the not-so-pretty side of college, and some insight into pre-midterms mania, here is Katie with her stuffed animal (left) and in the fetal position on the ground (right). Haha. Life is hard. But life is also good, sometimes.
For instance, life was good when Katie finished one of the boulder problems at Metro she’s been working on for forever! Here she is triumphantly placing both hands on the finish hold/spot. It was a very fun/creative climbing problem. (:
I’ve also been able to hang out with my friend Zoe (who was President of WOC last year and was the one who encouraged to apply to be this year’s President) more often lately! Here I am with Katie and Zoe in the Lulu (student center) dining hall, and later all of us, plus Zoe’s boyfriend Keith, hanging out in my room! (:
And at some point during the last week, Katie and I went to Cambridge for lunch! We *never* eat out, so this was a big deal for us. Also – we got Chinese food! Which made me really happy because I was able to speak Mandarin with the people who worked there and was able to order food in Chinese and eat all the yummy things I miss so much from home. So happy!
Oh and I bought some groceries from HMart and – look at the size of this pear!!!
This was us after lunch, on our way to Metro. (:
And later this week, I got to see Katie, Zoe, and Keith again! Crazy, considering how busy we all are. Thankful for shared meals with good friends. (:
And that will conclude my post for this week! Yet another non-linear, photo-infused post, I admit, but I hope you at least enjoyed looking at the photos! Now I’ll go watch 2 art history films, study for my econometrics midterm, write a horticulture lab report, and finish my macroeconomics problem set. Gah. Wish me luck!
