As a lifelong basketball fan (GO SPURS GO!!!!), March Madness is one of my favorite events of the year, but in college, November Madness is one of my, er, less-favorite things.
In between midterms, essays, presentations, lectures, meetings, and the 4:30 p.m. sunsets, it’s easy to get lost in the fray. However, one of my favorite things about Wellesley is that, despite our work-hard/play-hard culture, we’re rather playful, silly people.
In fact, today, upon mentioning to my friend Ann that I felt a little overwhelmed with everything going on, she invited me to go play in an ENORMOUS puddle of leaves. Though that will have to wait until tomorrow – homework beckons – I’m excited to spend time nurturing my inner six-year-old this weekend.
A brief, non-comprehensive list of things that bring out my inner child at Wellesley:
- The playground a the Child Study Center (weekends = go time!)
- Volunteering at the Child Study Center, playing with the students (only at Wellesley)
- The boathouse (hanging out in kayaks is not what I foresaw myself doing in college, but you know..)
- The majesty of the Galenstone Tower (AND SOMETIMES, THEY PLAY DISNEY SONGS AND IT’S AWESOME)
- The BesTeas at the Quad (hilarious professors + cookies = awesomeness)
- S’Mores night! I feel like a GirlScout again. 🙂
Well…that, and Sundae Sunday!!!!!! …More to come on that later.
Your first Wellesley sibling,
Estefania
