Wow what a week it has been!! I’ve turned in my first essay already, finished our Spring ’12 tea season, and had some of the best food (and company!) of my life.
So first off, this past Sunday we celebrated Laura’s 20th birthday! We first went out for brunch at this quaint place right by Wellesley called The Cottage. It was so great, as I enjoyed my wonderful crab melt sandwich! I definitely want to go there again; it was so good! Next up on my list: the eggs Benedict!
Then that evening we had another tea (theme was Southern Hospitalitea), and then off to watch the Super Bowl. I briefly stopped by Cassie’s room to watch it and eat some pizza. Yum!
On Friday, Erin and I went out to celebrate Laura’s birthday again with delicious sushi at a place near Coolidge Corner, right around the corner from Justin’s apartment. We tried all these different makis, which were all so delicious, especially the crunchy maki. Then we made our way back to Harvard, got some ice cream at JP Licks, and met up with Daniella. All in all, it was a great evening!
Then I went to see Justin, and we had ourselves a fabulous Valentine’s Day weekend. First off, we went to celebrate by having lunch Neptunes in North End, which we’ve been dying to go to for so long!!! I had a deeeliiicioussss fried oyster burger with a juicy medium rare patty and relish. Absolutely delicious!! I split half of it with Justin, who got a buttery lobster roll sandwich, which was also so so good. We also ordered a few raw oysters for appetizers. I hadn’t had oysters from Washington in soo long (maybe a few years or so??), but all in all, I know I must return soon and try some more from the east coast! Afterwards, we also went to explore the North End a bit and visited a few boutiques.
Originally we had plans to go ice-skating, but it was lightly snowing, so we spontaneously decided to go visit the MFA, Museum of Fine Arts. I hadn’t been since last year so it was nice to see the collections again. We visited the American and European galleries and just took a peek into the Contemporary Art gallery. We had so much fun there. But by this time, we were pretty tired, so we made our way back to his apartment.
We rested up a bit, read up on some news, watched some YouTube, and then Justin surprised me with a home cooked Korean BBQ dinner later that night! It was absolutely delicious, and we ended up watching part of the Knicks vs Timberwolves game (side note Jeremy Lin!) while we ate. Two fabulous combinations.
Then later that night, I headed back to campus for ZA’s applicant party. We wrapped up our teas this week and ended with our one-of-a-kind applicant party. The theme was Dante’s Inferno. I love applicant parties because I absolutely love all the creative costumes the applicants come in!
On Sunday, we had our Sunday Brunch and then welcomed the new class to ZA! I’m so excited and can’t wait to get to know all of them better!!
This week is going to be pretty busy as we move to getting everything done before the three-day weekend. I can’t believe we’re already starting on our fourth week of school. How time really flies! I’ll update you soon!
