I have previously written about the sometimes sleep deprived environment of Wellesley. Luckily for me, last night and this morning were blissfully filled with restful sleep. Last night I also discovered the most amazing alarm clock for my computer. I set the time and it wakes me up by playing an itunes playlist at progressively louder volumes. I woke up to the sultry sound of Ben Folds. It’s been a glorious morning.
My sleep was well deserved after this weekend. I turned 21 one Sunday and, being from New Jersey, also celebrated the Giants’ victory. We are in the middle of tea season for TZE, so the frisbee team came down to the little brick house on Tupelo Lane to wish me an ultimate happy birthday.
We also had practice Sunday evening from 8-10 p.m. and we did all my favorite conditioning work outs.
Monday evenings I have an Africana Studies seminar with one of my favorite TZE ladies. Last night we both lamented the prime time TV shows we had to miss because our class is from 7-9:30 p.m. I’m embarrassed to admit that Pretty Little Liars (which I describe as a PG mix of Gossip Girl and Desperate Housewives) was on my list. When I made it back to the dorm, the ladies of Munger were watching Castle and munching popcorn.
This week I have quizzes where I need to know Latin and Old English grammar. So whenever someone asks me why I take Latin, the new answer is that it’s helping with my Old English. I think that should appropriately silence the inquiry.
My reading list for this semester includes the Alchemist, the Aeneid, a little Dante, some Medieval dramas and, for my internship pleasure, some affidavits and interrogatories. Since I don’t have classes on Fridays, I am working at a law firm in Newton. That’s all for me this week! Hope everyone enjoyed my birthday weekend as much as I did.
