Back from break and senior gift letters, invitations to senior soiree, and lots of things reminding me how old I am keep flooding my inbox. Reality has yet to set in.
The fact that there is still snow on the ground helps with my disillusion that this is in fact NOT my senior spring, and I will have plenty of time to do all the things.
For me, all the things include a few items on Wellesley’s list of 50 things to do before you graduate listed here:

How much do I love that #1 is run naked across Sev Green? Wellesley priorities. I haven’t crossed that one off my list, but I think a 3 year career of nude modeling for the art department comes close enough.
I’m also wondering if I do one of the items on the list more than once, can that count as a replacement for another one? There is no way I’m learning to fake a Boston accent.
By far my favorite Wellesley tradition is walking around the lake. I love to spot the little brick TZE house peeking through the trees and to pet the super friendly off-leash dogs you’re bound to bump into.
Beyond that, I love the Wellesley legend that if your partner walks you around the lake, by the third lap they have to propose, or you can push them in. I think many a Wellesley student has wondered: Does that mean 3 laps in a row, or just 3 times total?
Allegedly the spot to stop for the proposal is Tupelo Point (romantically situated just across from the TZE house) but the path I take doesn’t pass by there. Also, 3 laps around the lake is something close to 6 miles; is this a ploy to exhaust us into accepting a proposal? Isn’t that a little close to kidnapping?
Joking aside, the path around the lake is breathtakingly beautiful. It’s just long enough to escape from Wellesley for a while and just short enough that you don’t have to feel guilty about taking the time to enjoy it.
Buuut if you’re still stuck with midterms, here’s a short video of the trail that you can enjoy and really really not feel guilty.
