Hello hello! Wow, what a week it’s been!!! Also I am officially leaving Oxford in TWO WEEKS when did this happen?!?!?!
So much has happened I’m just going do my usual picture+caption+let+me+walk+you+through+my+week spiel.
So! Formal dinner last Wednesday with Professor Yang, a Chinese visiting Professor whom I met through the Go Club. π Very tasty meal! Even better conversations (all in Chinese!) over dinner. π
And then Mansfield after dinner, in beautiful dusk lighting:
Haha and then I came home and had a game of Go with my Dutch neighbor! (The same one whose family I stayed with back in December when I was all alone in Europe with no place to go for Christmas!)
Oh oh oh and then I visited the famous TURF TAVERN which is tucked away in some side paths amidst the old buildings in Oxford city center! Apparently it’s got quite a few claims to fame…
And then just some picturesque photos of Oxford as I walked home from class one day. π Everything is in bloom now!
Oh and then the WONDERFULLY entertaining Oxford Mountaineering Club Annual Dinner π Don’t you just love their name cards?? One is of tiny figures climbing the Radcliffe Camera, which is one of the major libraries and architectural tourist sights in Oxford, and the other is an actual climbing problem somewhere around the world haha.
My friend Lina made a belt out of climbing gear and I tried it on π
Oh this is Tom!! He’s so tall that even when he was on his KNEES his reach was still longer than mine!! Such an unfair climbing advantage.
Oh HAHA this is what I see every day when I come home: my flat mates watching Korean dramas. Ha! And guess who introduced them to Kdramas in the first place? That’s right. Me. π
This was apparently an especially dramatic one…starring Lee Minho if that means anything to you π
Oh and then this was Friday’s Salsa Ball!! Oh it was SO fun! I went with my Dutch friend again (his name is Koen) and there were workshops and social dancing and then also professional performances!!! It was so worth the Β£20 I paid!!!
Having a committee meeting on the grass π These are the friends I made through joining the homeless outreach volunteer group I did this year!
And then more pictures of how beautiful Oxford is nowadays. π I’m glad I finally got to see it in all its stunning glory before my early departure for NYC!
Oh and my grandparents! π This is because my mom just made a trip back to China recently to visit her parents in Beijing. ^_^ Aren’t they cute?? I haven’t seen them in 3 years π
And this is the beautiful library in which I study at Mansfield. Every college has its own library!!
Oh and another formal dinner yesterday π I made two new Chinese friends!! It felt SO good to be able to speak Chinese during the course of the entire evening! I originally went with my friend Julian, who’s president of the Oxford Go Club, and then we met Chris and her friend who’s visiting from Edinburgh!! Yay so much happiness <3 <3 Oh and then I also played piano for them after dinner ^_^
And one more picture of High Street! I know you probably feel like you’ve seen enough pictures of Oxford by now, but I can’t resist! It’s just such beautiful architecture…I still can’t believe I’ve lived here since October.
Okay, that’s it!! Until next week!
