Climbing In Wales

Hey hey~

Can’t believe it’s already been a week! Last week was super busy for me–but that means I’m taking more time off this week 🙂 Yay for basically not having done any work over the past three days!! (Though I was also recovering from climbing in Wales over the weekend–it took a full three days for my calves to stop hurting!!)

My high school friend Shannia visited me in Oxford from last Monday until today (she just left at noon!) and it was quite fun. The highlight of her time (and my past week, too) was going to Wales together. I originally didn’t think she’d get to climb, and would just hike around, but we came upon a very nice couple who decided to take her up an easier climb while I climbed nearby with my climbing buddy Ed. It was perfect! Pictures to follow.

First, here are Shannia’s two blog posts about the trip. She’s hilarious and I highly recommend reading the rest of her travel blog.

We also got there early (all 40 Oxford University Mountaineering Club members who were on the trip were staying in a huge hut) to cook chili for the NEXT evening, after everybody’s done a day of climbing, so nobody has to worry about food. As you can see, these were huge pots of chili! We stirred these for infinite hours.

Aaaand now Shannia is off to bigger and better adventures studying abroad in Uruguay! Again, def recommend following her blog 😉

Until next week!
