Hello~!
This past week was great! On Sunday, there was an Asian Food Festival where students from tons of different clubs in the University made their ethnic foods–so there was Malaysian food, Thai food, Chinese food, Taiwanese food…don’t remember if I saw Korean or Japanese food actually, now that I think about it…
It was so packed though! See below:
And then afterwards, my friend Matt (with whom I was at the food festival) and I watched the tree-lighting at Christ Church (one of the many colleges at Oxford) and then went with the rest of the crowd into the college bar, where we were served malt wine for only 50p! It was my first taste of malt wine, too, and I must say I liked it! Warm and a bit spicy. 🙂
Here we are trying to take a normal picture… :
Then we met up with my friend Koen (who lives in the same apartment complex as me actually! And is Dutch!) and we went to G&D’s (the local ice cream place) for this BEAUTIFUL waffle sundae. I died from joy.
And then yesterday (Tuesday) I went to (yet another!) formal dinner! This time at Worcester College, again with my climbing friends Ed and Pavlina. 🙂 It was loads of fun!Â
(I know it looks like we’re just drinking wine in the pictures above–but I promise there was food too!)
Horrible pictures of beautiful Worcester at night:
And then we hung out in the MCR (middle common room) and played this WONDERFUL, super fun game called Dixit (!) which I’d never heard of before but really liked 😀
And then today I went to the farmer’s market at Gloucester Green–they’re up every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday! Very fun. In addition to fresh groceries, they also have arts, crafts, antiques, and vintage stuff…and hot food!
I can’t believe term is almost over. :O In exactly one week, I fly to Spain! I can’t believe it!! Where did the time go??
I’m partially sad the term is over because I love Oxford so much and I don’t want to have only two terms left…but at the same time I’m excited to go on holiday in Spain and after that to visit Boston!! There are so many people back home I can’t wait to see!
But for now–I still have two essays to write before my term is definitively over…wish me luck!
Until next week,
~Emily
