“Tea” at a Professor’s House

Hello hello~!

Wow, can’t believe yet another week has gone by. Where is my last semester of college going?? Things need to slow down.

Guess what! I went to a professor’s house for tea for the first time this past Sunday. 🙂 It was so cool! Professor Joyce from the Economics Department, who is also my faculty advisor and with whom I took a 200-level Econ class my sophomore year, invited one of his current Econ classes to his house for tea along with some students outside his class, like a girl who’s currently working on her thesis with him, and myself.

It was so much fun! His wife, Katherine, made us the most delicious quiche and pasta and cakes and cider and we even helped her make an apple pie! Oh my goodness. I was definitely NOT expecting this when he said he was inviting us to his house for “tea”!

This was also my first time visiting a professor’s house in my entire Wellesley career, so I’m glad I got to do it before I graduate! Professor Joyce mentioned that he’d thought of that, as well.

Anyway, here are some pictures from the day!

Oh and on a totally different note (well, maybe not completely, since this is also on the topic of food), look at all the delicious things I’ve been eating at the Sustainability Co-op (where I live) recently! Yummm. 😀 Homemade bread, noodle soup, soybeans, lentil curry, stir fry vegetables….

Oh and this was from last Friday when I went to Juniper (in the town of Wellesley) for lunch with a friend. 🙂 One of my housemates, Annie, actually works there, though she wasn’t there that day. I told my server, Max, that I live with Annie, and what do you know! At the end of my meal he brought over a nice, warm date cake with melted caramel drizzled all over and whipped cream on top, gave it to me for free, and said, “Annie would have wanted you to try this” with a smile. Isn’t that so nice?? Omg. It was so yummy too.

And then also randomly, my mom has been going through old photos at home recently and scanning them all onto our computer so we can have digital copies–and she sent some to me! Oh my goodness I can’t believe I used to be so cute. What happened??

Oh and this is completely random–it’s one of the pianos on campus I practice on! This one’s in the MultiFaith Center, which is really nice actually (both the piano and the Center). I find it’s a very peaceful place to practice. I also like the practice rooms, which are like the official rooms for music students to practice in, etc. though they get kind of creepy at night (and I do a lot of practicing at night). But I do like them in the day, especially the rooms with large floor to ceiling windows, because then you feel like you’re playing piano on a beautiful sunny day outdoors. 😀

Anyway. Those were some highlights of my week! Actually the visit to Professor Joyce’s house was definitely THE highlight of my week, haha.

Until next week!
