I’m living in a frat house!

Hello~!

Indeed. As I type this, I am sitting by my window that looks out onto Mass Ave. It’s a great view and a great source of natural light that fills my entire room.

My view:

I started reading Les Mis and it is a BRICK of a book!! But it pulls you right in. At the moment, my high school friend who also goes to Wellesley, Gen, is out getting breakfast with my other Wellesley friend, Dasha. I love the convenience of the city.

Gen stayed over last night because I have space to host someone in my room! Isn’t it wonderful? I’m staying at ADPhi, and there are about 50 people total living here I think – with a good mix of summer boarders and frat brothers. It’s actually a very nice building, 5 stories with 3 hallways on each floor and lounges to boot…plus the bathrooms are so nice! They were renovated recently and are better than the ones I’m used to at Wellesley. Woohoo!

I’m adjusting very well to life back on this coast, but I must admit I still miss California and Berkeley and Indian Rock and my friends back home. But I got to see them before I left!

This is Zoe, whom I actually met through Wellesley, even though we live SO close to each other back in the Bay haha.

^We ate Mexican food while we were in SF and it was FABULOUS. We’d both forgotten how delicious Californian Mexican food is. The East Coast just doesn’t compare. And we’d forgotten that Mexican places in CA give you chips for free! It’s insane! The East Coast charges you for them!

Anyway, then we went rock climbing at one of my favorite places on earth, Indian Rock. Here are a few pictures taken about a week ago at the same place, whilst a BBQ took place:

And after climbing, Zoe and I grabbed dinner with my friend, Kelly!

Also – unrelated, but I cut myself while slicing fruit! πŸ™ It made climbing a little more difficult. It also looked a lot worse than it actually was so I felt the need to document this:

I also got to catch up with a long-lost friend! Honestly don’t remember the last time I hung out with Khanh…but it was so great to see him! And he was a darling and drove me to the airport when I left at 4am, because he was also dropping off his parents.

And now I’m back in Boston! (Well, technically Cambridge.) And there is SO much to do.

The same day I arrived, I went out to dinner with my girlfriend, mentor, and past boss, Tamara! (I worked under her for my internship last summer.) Excuse the pale, sickly alien-look in this photo:

We went to Little Italy:

And then I stayed over at her apartment. You are never too old for slumber parties. πŸ™‚

Also look at this super cool typewriter I found in the 3rd floor lounge at ADPhi!

Anyway~ my second day in Cambridge, I did some acro yoga! There’s a facebook group for people in the area who like acro, so I just showed up, made some new friends, and learned some acro.

Isn’t the city filled with wonderful things and wonderful people and wonderful places? πŸ™‚

Lastly, here’s Gen visiting last night. We made dinner with a new friend of mine, Ruifan, who’s a brother at the frat. I am very much enjoying learning how to cook!

And that’s it for this week! I start my internship tomorrow, and I’ll keep you posted on how that goes. πŸ˜‰

Cheers,

Em
