Happy Halloween!

Hello Blog!

Happy Halloween readers! I hope you are having a very spooky day and eating those mini candy bars (or honestly the full-size ones) at any free moment you have. I know we’ve personally had a candy bowl in the Office of Admission since the beginning of the month, so as a candy corn apologist, I’ve definitely been enjoying that. I must admit, the spookiest thing I had today was my second orgo exam, but this weekend was filled with many festivities.

On Friday, I went to carillon masterclass where people were practicing their music for “Phantom of the Tower,” our Halloween Open Tower lovingly named after Phantom of the Opera. On Wednesday, we decorated the tower for visitors, so there were cobwebs and string lights everywhere (including spider lights that took me 15 minutes to untangle). The tower is already pretty spooky, especially if you’re there alone at night, so there wasn’t too much work to be done. After that, Chamber Music Society was hosting a movie night, so I went for a bit to hang out with people, decorate door tags, and eat delicious catered food from the ville. Finally, I ended the night at Munger Mash, Wellesley’s big Halloween party.

Saturday was my big on-campus day. I started off selling some of my earrings at a craft fair. As I’ve mentioned before, Wellesley students love earrings (and crafts in general), so it’s always lovely to see what people are making. The Halloween Open Tower was at the same time, but you can hear the bells from almost anywhere on campus, so I was definitely listening. That evening was the Music Department faculty Western Classical Music concert followed immediately by Wellesley’s student production of Rocky Horror. Talk about variety! My cello professor was performing a piece we worked on together last year, and I think it’s incredible that we get see our faculty perform for us. My first time seeing Rocky Horror was at Wellesley last year, so I wanted to keep up the tradition, and it did not disappoint.

And then Sunday was fairly relaxed! I started my day with my personalized omlette from Lulu (highlight of my week), and spent the rest of the day unwinding and doing work. I need balance for my weekends, so I like having a big block of time where I can regroup and get ready for the week.

Thanks for coming along with me during my Halloweekend!

Until next time,
