Hello Blog!
I made it! I’ve finished my last classes before spring break, and I will not lie, it has been such a long stretch this semester without a break. The way this semester has worked out is that we have 9 weeks before spring break and only 4-5 weeks including finals after that. The semester has gone by so quickly! But I’m definitely ready for a break.
Some people go away for spring break. One of my friends is going to upstate New York with the ultimate frisbee team. Some of my friends in the Guild of Carillonneurs are going to Belgium to the Royal Carillon School. My roommate is going with her family to London. Personally, I will be spending time with my family at home. To me, nothing sounds better than a week of home-cooked meals, movie nights, and baking cookies with my family. I’m really planning on using spring break to recharge, relax, and get ready to finish the semester strong!
But never fear, I have big plans for spring break. For one, I have a lot of books on my plate. I may or may not currently have eight books checked out in preparation ranging from popular books, sci-fi, poetry, rom-coms, and of course, the Hunger Games trilogy. I’m currently reading the book If We Were Villains, which I’m really enjoying! I’ll also be catching up on shows and movies I haven’t had the time to watch this semester. Last spring break, I made my favorite pair of planet earrings, so I’m still deciding what my big project will be this year. Finally, I’m going to try to visit some of my friends from home at their respective colleges because we all have different spring break schedules.
We like to say that Wellesley social life is a choose your own adventure, and I think spring break is a real reflection of that. I can stay home and read a book, my friends can go away, people can stay on campus, and all of these are equally valid! And next year, I might do something different, which is really common. I’ll return in a week with hopefully some great book reviews and updates from all my friends.
