The Calm After the Storm

This week was insane! I got about 3-5 hours of sleep each night and was busy with work and school both. My application to the University of Washington’s post-bac program in Speech Pathology was due on Wednesday, the same day that I had work at Slater morning until noon, and then I quickly changed into business attire for a job fair the rest of afternoon.
Luckily for me I didn’t have to run to my second job at CCTV in Cambridge because there are now three of us managing the computer lab over there and the other volunteers covered for me.
On Thursday I had a biology lab quiz right after meeting with the MEZCLA political action committee, then Spanish class, and finally MEZCLA’s “MEZCLA History” event.

Educating the Wellesley Community about Latina's at Wellesley!

I didn’t get home until 10 pm when I then started researching for my panel presentation I would be giving the next day. Friday I miraculously got through my panel and then had a short break before going to Cielito Lindo practice for my flamenco lessons. We will be performing in April at the Latina Cultural Show and I want to make sure I’m not tripping over myself on stage, 😉
I had a synthesis assignment then due online by midnight and finally decided to throw a dress on instead of going to bed to catch the Peter Pan bus into the city. There I attended a MEZCLA mixer, and went to dance salsa at a Salsa club, Riles, in Somerville.
You would think the next day I’d be ready to keel over but it was my friend Shelby’s 22nd birthday at Grendel’s bar, a very cozy place I hadn’t been to since wintersession, so I bought her Tina Fey’s new book, “Bossy Pants” and had another great time in Cambridge. Now I’m writing this blog post from a Starbucks cafe and reassuringly getting my work done with the relief that is having President’s Day this Monday to make up for distracted day dreaming… Phew!
