Hey there,
It's snowing today. Again. I'm getting a little tired of this…too bad there will probably still be snow on the ground in March.
Well, my leisurely lifestyle that I acquired during break came to a skidding halt on Monday when I was thrown headfirst into Classical Political Theory at 9:50 am with Professor Euben (fantastic lecturer, by the way), overwhelmed by World Politics with Professor Goddard, and shamed in Astronomy with Professor Anil Seth because I forgot how to multiply and divide (apparently…I didn't even know that this had happened to my brain until we had a survey to see how sharp our quantitative reasoning skills were).
After that nice start to the semester, I wanted to curl up and read magazines in bed with tea but decided I should probably start the 1098080989808 pages of reading I had just been assigned. Not much more to report, sorry. Don't get me wrong, though, I really like my classes so far. I had just forgotten how draining schoolwork was!
Tuesday I had French 211, which will be hard but I love Professor Bilis and my classmates seem cool. Plus one of my best friends is in this course with me! I also had my first day of working at the Child Study Center, Wellesley's laboratory preschool on campus. I worked in the Middle classroom with 3-4 year olds. Definitely made some new friends. Finally, I had res staff (we are starting to plan events for this semester already). Ironically, I was trying to do politics homework so I missed the State of the Union Address, which I'm bummed about. I think I might watch it later online.
Conclusion: I am a tad overwhelmed as of right now. I just need to find a routine. It hasn't even been a week though, so I'm sure I will figure out time management soon. Stay tuned for some (hopefully) more exciting news…until then I will be eating chocolate and reading Herodotus in Anderson Forum (known to most as the Fireplace Room) in the Campus Center.
xoxo
