Bonjour,
I have been inspired to start cooking this month, seeing as I would probably wither and die if I ever have to cook for myself when I live alone (someday). Seriously, not counting toast, cereal, hard-boiled eggs, pasta, and chocolate chip cookies (duh) and maybeee a few more baked goodies, I don't know how to conjure up anything that would sustain a human life.
That said, here are some great recipes from the NY Times that I have stumbled upon today! Also, Williams-Sonoma has nice recipes and a cool calendar for cooking easy 30 min dinners that look delish (I WILL be trying Tangerine Beef and Snow Peas and probs the Penne with Vodka Sauce, too).
My biggest problem is that every time I sit down and flip through cookbooks to choose a dish to learn, I ALWAYS end up choosing a baked good. My friend's sister recently told me about this cake place in Seattle called Look Cupcake. Check out these sweet thangs:

My mouth just started watering.
In other news, my job at Seattle Children's is going well. I love working with the kids! I always look forward to going to work, which is pretty lucky. I don't know tons of people who can say that! Children's Hospital in any city provides excellent benefits to its employees.
I hope you seniors are all finishing up your college applications! You must feel like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders. Good luck if you're still truckin'! I know it stinks, but it's almost over!
Here's a toast to finishing college apps and celebrating with a decadent dessert!
Cheers,
Kara
