High School Seniors Throw Your Hands in the Air!!

HOORAY!! CONGRATULATIONS ON FINISHING COLLEGE APPLICATIONS!!

Regular applications to Wellesley were due yesterday, and now you are DONE with all of that stress! To those of you who just sent in your applications, you can relax and enjoy becoming 2nd semester seniors (finally)!

When I was a senior, I remember how anxious I felt for about a week or two after applications were due because I was still so tense and tired from writing so many essays (I applied to 9 schools).  Don't worry – life improves with each month leading up to graduation.

My week hasn't been nearly as exciting as that final click of submission as you finish you last college application, but I my week may have been a tad more low-key. We are hitting the final sweet week of winter break. Although it’s been the restful retreat I had hoped, I might actually be ready to hop back into my routine at Wellesley. I really miss my friends, too!

Most of my high school friends headed back to school around the first week of the month, so my friend Lauren and I have been kicking back and watching movie classics, eating, and running together for about two weeks since we are the only ones in town. Lauren helped me achieve one of my life goals: learn how to French braid! As you can tell, life has been extremely strenuous on the home front.

Winter break is perfect for trying things that you never thought you would have time to try or improve.  My soccer friend from Wellesley, Lena, and I have been attending a few hip hop classes in Seattle at Westlake Dance Center. I feel silly at first, but after about 15 minutes of the drop-in classes, I get really into it! I love it! We will be going next week for our final class of the break. It’s a good workout, too!

Speaking of working out, I have officially started my marathon training and will be increasing my running mileage every weekend on my long runs. Last week I ran about 9 miles, and this week I will probably be running close to ten. Unfortunately, I will have to run on the treadmill with my running buddies when we get back to school…10 miles on the treadmill sounds HORRIBLE!! ughhhh. I forget that Boston has snow! It's currently 55 degrees and rainy here in Seattle.

Sooooo the other day I baked absurdly delicious cookies (not to brag or anything… haha) yesterday. They are Espresso Chocolate Chip Cookies. I think I have a new favorite cookie!

Anyway, I will leave you with this mouth-watering picture of my creation:
