It’s Raining Cats and Dogs

Heyyy there,

The past week flew by and now I'm realizing that midterms are coming up much faster than I would like to admit. I have an essay due within the next 2 weeks for my developmental psychology course and my french course, and I have an important American politics midterm next Tuesday.

I'm kinda bummed that my professor scheduled the test for the day after Fall Break. My boyfriend, Rory, will be coming to town this weekend and I was hoping that I wouldn't have to stress about any class while he's here.  I guess we will be spending a few quality hours in the library on Monday night…but he's a good sport and I know he will have work he can do, too.

This past weekend was fun! We had our little Wellesley homecoming celebration with a little parade of golf carts that zoomed down to the soccer field before our homecoming game. We won against Springfield College in the second period of overtime with a scrappy goal in the back of the net by my fellow Seattleite, first-year Lena Cardoso! Congrats Lena! We had lots of fans, thanks to all the families that came for the weekend and the student BBQ held on the field next to our game field. Good day for a win. After that, I went out to dinner with three of my good friends and their families (total party of 11…wow!) at Lucca in Back Bay. Oh my gosh, that dinner was delish. The girls and I shared a chocolate mousse dessert that was to die for. It included a little toasted marshmallow on the side which was unexpected but delightful, I must say.

Today I am going to take the bus in to Kendall, MIT and then take the T to Harvard Square where I'm meeting my friend, Regan, for lunch and then writing my French essay. I think the change of scenery will be inspiring. Also, it's raining and this weather always makes me crave little cafes and a warm atmosphere, so I will be seeking out the perfect little nook for my afternoon studying.

I'm so excited: today Wellesley alumna Desiree Rogers, former White House Social Secretary for Barack and Michelle Obama, is coming to Wellesley to give a speech titled, "The Making of a Woman." I'm super excited to hear her speak. I wonder if she will address the White House party crasher incident that led to her resignation. I will let you know how it goes!

I've gotta go catch the bus now! Have a great week 🙂
