Major Declarations

I guess I'm officially on my way to graduating from Wellesley some day…today I declared myself a French and Political Science double major.

I feel a little more relaxed now that I have my future courses planned and written down on paper. My majors are really compatible, and will allow me to satisfy my requirements for both even if I study abroad in France. I want to study at Sciences Po (the most famous political science university in France) in Paris or in Aix-en-Provence. I will be applying to both this Spring.

Courses are slowly winding down as the last day of classes approaches (December 10th what whaat), but professors seem to share the brilliant idea to slap in one last major assignment into the syllabus before their final exams. Last night I was chatting with one of my residents and she said that she has a midterm exam today! I could be working on my two big papers that are due during finals but instead I'm frantically trying to finish a psychology assignment. In times like these (and this DEFINITELY applies in the weeks to come), time managament is key.

Ok, I'm done writing about academics; all this talk is stressing me out! On a much lighter note, my friends and I all scored tickets yesterday to the Boston Ballet's Nutcracker show on Friday!

The Student Activities Office was selling 80 tickets for $25 each, and they chartered a bus and everything to take us there. Let the holiday spirit begin! My mom sent me holiday lights in the mail and included my favorite coffee mug in the box (thanks, Mom!). Also, happy first night of Hannukah!

Saturday is Tri-Society Formal (theme: Venetian Masquerade) at Alumnae Hall! I have a dress and I'm really excited to have some fun before I buckle down for finals. Good thing Tower Court had their Wellness Program last night. The nutritionists from the Stone Center gave us some great tips for staying on top of our game during stressful times: drink tons of water, don't overload on caffeine, take short walks outside and deep breathe while you walk, get more sleep than you think you need, and evaluate whether or not you're truly hungry when you feel like eating.

Random note: I don't know why, but on some computers the font that I chose doesn't work and my blog instead takes on Courier New and looks like typwriter font. I'm sorry if that happens to you! It's really ugly.

Have a great week!
