It’s been a week of firsts!
On Monday evening, I attended Wellesley College Senate for the first time! Every Monday at 6, students from all over campus, representing many different organizations, gather to discuss what’s going on, on campus. Senate is an open forum in which students are invited to bring questions or concerns to the Senate floor. In addition to the Wellesley College Government cabinet (president, vice president, chief justice, bursar, etc.), a college dean is always in attendance, providing a direct line of communication to the college administration. I presented as a student trustee on the Wellesley board of trustees admissions committee.
I got to visit WZLY, Wellesley’s radio station for the first time! Students are the DJs and intern with one another to learn the tricks of the trade. Here’s a peek at the lobby:
I got to sit in a computer science class, in which students were presenting about apps that they had designed themselves! The apps were geared toward Wellesley students, and ranged from an app about dining hall food to an exercise game rooted in saving the world from bunnies!
Next week, I’m hoping to check out an event with the human computer interaction (HCI) lab, here at Wellesley. They dominated at iGEM last year!
